Common Phrases

Top  Previous  Next

The idea of the Common Phrases is to be able to build up a list of phrases that you commonly enter into, for example, the horse notes. By selecting these at any time you can enter data very quickly and error free.

An example of is shown below using the horse record:-

Common Phrase Horse Notes

On the horse record here is a checkbox under the notes which when ticked reveals a drop down box.

By selecting a common phrase the relevant text is then entered into the horse notes area, adding itself to the existing notes. You can see that there are several divisions of notes these being Notes (Horse), History, Nutrition, Observations, Ongoing Care and Stance and Gait. The latter choices apply to various systems.

By clicking on Add button you can now add a common phrase. You enter the title first (this will be shown in the drop down box) and then the actual text that you wish to be entered. l This works in exactly the same way as adding a message to an invoice.

The reason for the various options is to "filter" the drop down lists. So for example, if you enter 100 phrases but only 12 of them apply to the horse notes, then the horse list only shows those 12 phrases.

You can manage this section in any way you wish, remembering that as with most features, if you wish to add a phrase very quickly, simply type the title in the drop down box on the horse record and then press TAB and you will be taken straight to the common phrase set up screen.
