Backup & Restore

Top  Previous  Next

Our systems are provided with an automated backup feature which will always back up to the hard drive. This of course is not the ideal option as backups must always be saved to some external medium for reliable security.

There are two forms of backup we provide. The automated backup will backup your data files, configuration files and images and will tend to be relatively small. A full backup will backup the actual program files and data files etc. so will be much larger.

Both files will be saved in your program data area (see file locations). The file naming conventions used are:

Full                - Full Backup Date/Time.zip

Data Files        - Data Backup Date/Time.zip

There is also another backup called Archive which is a mixture of the two and requires separate explanation.

Naming conventions

The files are normal WinZip files and can be transmitted to us in the event of a problem where we might need to review your data to track down a particularly elusive problem.

Please refer to Backup Preferences to see how to save these files to an external medium also.
