|
An Assessment Chart can be added from the Add Horse screen by pressing the Charts button. However, if you are editing a chart you can only ADD TO it but you are not able to erase the old information. The reason being that when you edit a previously saved chart it creates another layer on top of the original chart allowing the old layer to shine through.
If the Quick Chart checkbox has been ticked then you will be taken straight to the screen to create the Chart. However to use the Quick Chart you must set up this first in Preferences/Charts
However if the Quick Chart box is left unticked you will be taken to the screen to enter the Add Notes, Create Invoice/Work Performed
The chart itself can be selected under the Preferences/Horse/Charts on the registered version. You can even add your own charts if you wish.
The five buttons at the bottom of the chart allow you to add text that you use frequently on the chart. These texts are setup under Preferences/Charts
Drawing is done using a mouse although if you have the software running on a "tablet PC" then the light pen can be used for more accurate drawing.
An external tablet device can be used if required.
A detailed explanation of the various controls appears below:
When the chart opens for the first time you will see an empty screen. The ink colour to start with is red but this can be changed at any time by clicking the Select colour button to see a list of colours to change to. The line thickness can also be changed by using the spin control to increase or decrease the line width. The default width is 3 units.
You can reset the pen colour to red and the line width to 3 at any time by clicking the reset Pen button.
To draw using the mouse, left click at the place you wish to start, and holding the mouse left hand button down, drag it across the screen to draw a line. Using a light pen is simply a matter of touching the screen at the starting point and drawing.
If you make a mistake you can click the erase button and retracing your steps to erase a line or part of a line. Alternatively, you can click the Clear Form button to clear the entire contents of the screen.
By default the line is Freehand. If you want to draw a straight line then select the Line button. Click ONCE to indicate the start of the line then click ONCE where you want the line to end and the line is drawn in the colour and line width selected.
Advanced controls allow you to shade portions of the chart or highlight areas using empty boxes or circles, or filled boxes or circles. To create an empty box (edges are current colour and width) click ONCE where you want the top left of the box to be. Now click ONCE where the bottom right of the box should be and the box is drawn in the colour and line width selected.
To create an empty circle (edges are current colour and width) click ONCE where you want the top left of the circle to be. Now click ONCE where the bottom right of the circle should be and the circle is drawn in the colour and line width selected.
To create a filled box (the fill is the current colour) click ONCE where you want the top left of the box to be. Now click ONCE where the bottom right of the box should be and the box is drawn in the colour and line width selected.
To create a filled circle (the fill is the current colour) click ONCE where you want the top left of the circle to be. Now click ONCE where the bottom right of the circle should be and the circle is drawn in the colour and line width selected.
Selecting your own chart has no effect on the above instructions since the chart acts as a background only. |
